Training is provided to all ROSOND’s on-site operational staff, with specific emphasis on our permanent staff contingent. This includes both theoretical and practical elements, and is performed using real machinery in simulated scenarios. Various training levels are available, from induction to intermediate and advanced, with the duration extending from two days to two weeks, depending on specific application requirements.
In addition, underground instructors provide on-site underground training for a six-month Assistant Machine Operator course and a six-month Machine Operator course. On each course instructors oversee the participation of trainees in an 8-hour shift.
ROSOND believes that we will continue to attract high quality talent by encouraging innovation, high performance and continuous learning, and by creating an equal opportunity environment for our people.
Psychometric testing
Psychometric testing to quantify and analyse employee skills profiles is conducted by an independent service provider, both on-site and at ROSOND’s facilities. We continuously test our operational staff; administrative and engineering staff are also tested regularly.
ROSOND views this as an effective and practical way to not only address the skills shortage, but to grow and retain its in-house talent and intellectual property pool.
