In 1956, RODIO started servicing southern Africa’s mining and civil engineering industries in association with the Barlow group. RODIO established a niche presence in the market and introduced many original cementation techniques for geotechnical purposes, including high shear, high-speed mixing and equipment for the grouting of cement and the long-range pumping of cement slurries.
In 1991, the international RODIO group was sold, becoming an independent company named ROSOND, owned by Swiss-based Geosond Holdings.
South African-based independent alternative asset management firm, Capitalworks, announced a significant investment in ROSOND in 2011, resulting in BEE ownership of 25.1% of the company and marking the entrance of the management team as significant shareholders alongside Capitalworks.
In 2014 the ROSOND group expanded to Mozambique to service the mining and civil industries.
